I am a bit of a fan of cycling Podcasts. Since I have gotten back into cycling, I have listened to quite a few. Some great, others, well, not the best. I started out listening to Flammecast (itunes link), but they has since folded. My 3 favourites for now are.
Velocast with Scott O’Raw and John Galloway. Excellent podcast by Scott and John. John was the Scottish half of Flammecast. One that page you will see a list of their shows. The current version of the Velocast (itunes link), This Week in Cycling History (itunes link) with Cillian Kelly, Velocast Race Radio and Velocast Classic (itunes link). There is also a new podcast in the works, but I can’t spill the beans on that as yet. But it sounds great.
The FredCast (itunes link) is hosted and produced by David Bernstein. David has a terrific knowledge of the bicycle industry having worked as a bicycle industry executive. The shows may be a little American focused, but I think they are well worth a listen.
The Spokesmen. (itunes link) Hosted by the Fredcast’s David Bernstein, this round table discussion on all things cycling is a very good show. Regular guests include Carlton Reid, Neil Browne, DL Byron and more.
I hope this gets you started with some interesting cycling Podcasts. If you know of others, please leave a comment and I will add them to the list.
Thanks for the great comments! So glad you enjoy the shows.
In addition to being a part of the fantastic SpokesMen podcast I have my own as well – TourChats. It’s weekly on Sunday at 9pm eastern and co-hosted by me and Dan Wuori of Velo Magazine. We focus on racing and have cycling related guests (past guests have been Ted King, Jonathan Vaughters, Jeremy Powers…). Can be found on iTunes.
If you like your podcast to be Scottish (as per Velocast) but also to include mountain biking as well as road cycling then do yourself a big favour and subscribe to the Velo Club Don Logan podcast. You won’t be disappointed. And as a bonus you’ll get John Galloway of the Velocast as an occasional guest.
