In the not to distant future, I notch up another years worth of life, and today I had a small brainwave which could work for most keen cyclists.
The challenge, to ride n kilometres on your birthday, where n=100-Your Age. So my next birthday I am 46, so the challenge is to ride 54kms on my birthday!
Obviously, each year will get slightly easier. If i can manage 10kms when I am 90, i will be a happy old man.
I did about 2.4kms on my birthday this year. Should have done at least 61. I have some catching up to do.
Ah, but this initiative only started today JB. You are excused.
Also, it isn’t like you don’t put in most days, you are a machine! 🙂
Sounds like a better plan than I had. Challenged myself to ride 100ks for each year of life this year my 72nd and was on target until illness forced 6 weeks of the bike. Can’t see me making it now.
The guy across the road is ninety and could very comfortably ride 10ks. Only problem he gets lost easily and can’t remember how to find his way home. In his case the mental side is the biggest challenge.
I friggin love this idea!!!
Now I just need to remember to do it & for how far each year. :O
Oh & Happy B’day Mate. 🙂
