Those Giro Helmets

If you, like me, have looked at those new Giro helmets and shaken your head (I keep seeing the pigs in Angry Birds), you might be interested in this video.

The Air Attack helmet is the latest in a long line of weird looking lids. From tear drop shaped to light bulbs, it seems nothing is to out there in helmet design.

MerJer for Stage 2 – With Added Merde!

Tony Martin has had two days in the MerJer, but he relinquished it last night to a man that got a wonky waffle and had a case of the breakaways from the back door and couldn’t contest the sprint. Despite one half of the Shergett Duo claiming it was “Tour de France nerves”, Kittel spells it wonderfully in this tweet.

For that, NPC would like to congratulate Marcel Kittel on receiving the MerJer. Lets hope the flow of brun stops before stage 3.

Yellow Helmets, Blame the Teams!

Well according to Dodger…

Surely a different colour would have been made sense. To me it takes something away from the yellow jersey.

Tour de France Spectators Take Note.

STAY OFF THE BLOODY ROADS!

Have a look at this goose from last nights stage.

The best thing is if you watch the video back again, another spectator rips into him. Excellent.

The crash didn’t do any huge damage, unlike this one in the video below.

So please, to those lucky enough to be standing by the road, stay out of the way!

NPC Turns 1 Today

How time flies. This little corner of the interwebs turns 1 today. It all started last year as a Tour de France Challenge, that I failed miserably.

This time last year

One year and nearly 30,000 visits later, the blog has grown and is getting more visits each month. A big thank you to all that visit and comment, it has been great fun. Hopefully it is still going strong this time next year. Special thanks to regular visitors like Lewy, Duke, Dave and Sam. Also, to the celebrities that have supported the blog, Mike Tomalaris, John Galloway and Rob Arnold. It is great to see you all coming back to see what is going on.

MerJer for the Prologue.

This one was easy. Poor old Tony Martin punctured about halfway through.

Oh No!

For that, he takes the MerJer for today.

If you don’t know what the MerJer is, check out this explanation.
